This sculptural Mid-Century Modern floor lamp by Roller Lamp Co. is a stunning statement piece with an elegant, organic form. The walnut-stained oak wood frame gracefully curves upward, embracing a custom linen shade that diffuses a warm, inviting glow. Polished brass accents add a touch of sophistication, while the pull-chain mechanism enhances its vintage appeal. Newly refinished, rewired, and polished, this lamp is in excellent condition, offering both function and artistry. A perfect addition to any modern or eclectic interior, it embodies the bold yet refined design sensibility of the 1960s.

Fun Historical Fact:

Roller Lamp Co. was one of the many American lighting manufacturers that thrived in the Mid-Century era, producing distinctive and innovative designs. The elongated, sculptural style of this lamp reflects the Atomic Age’s fascination with space-age aesthetics and organic forms, a movement popularized by designers like Adrian Pearsall and Vladimir Kagan. These futuristic yet naturalistic designs remain highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts today.

The Restoration Record

Everything we touched, and everything we left alone

Sixty-four hours of bench time by two craftsmen in our Hyperion Avenue workshop. Period-correct methods and materials throughout.

Frame fully disassembled, joints cleaned of old glue and re-set with hide glue. One rear stretcher replaced with salvaged period teak, grain-matched.
Stripped by hand, sanded through 120/180/240/320 grit, then three coats of Danish oil cut back between coats. No lacquer, no filler, no stain.
New jute webbing over the original beech rails; horsehair and natural latex pad; Kvadrat wool bouclé in undyed oat.
Maker's stamp, original brass fittings and the patina on the arm caps, the marks that prove the piece lived.
