A pair of iconic CH-22 lounge chairs designed by Hans J. Wegner in collaboration with the famous workshop of Carl Hansen & Søn in Denmark during the 1950s. Our chairs feature large molded curbed backrests for optimum comfort that feel as if they hug your body. Their sculpted armrests are a pleasure to relax in, and their seat rests made from paper chording are just as comfortable. Their superior quality and craftsmanship create a handsome profile from all angles, making them the ideal fit for any modern or contemporary space. Our expert craftsmen have meticulously restored this set, re-weaving their seats with a quality rush chord to maintain their Scandinavian Modern charm. The beauty of them is in their functional beauty pertinent to Wegner's philosophy to become work of arts you can relax comfortably, making them a marker of Danish Modern design.

The Restoration Record

Everything we touched, and everything we left alone

Sixty-four hours of bench time by two craftsmen in our Hyperion Avenue workshop. Period-correct methods and materials throughout.

Frame fully disassembled, joints cleaned of old glue and re-set with hide glue. One rear stretcher replaced with salvaged period teak, grain-matched.
Stripped by hand, sanded through 120/180/240/320 grit, then three coats of Danish oil cut back between coats. No lacquer, no filler, no stain.
New jute webbing over the original beech rails; horsehair and natural latex pad; Kvadrat wool bouclé in undyed oat.
Maker's stamp, original brass fittings and the patina on the arm caps, the marks that prove the piece lived.
