Set of four modern dining chairs designed by Niels O. Møller for J.L. Møllers in Denmark circa 1960s. All four chairs feature an ergonomic design and are comprised of solid walnut wood with new light tweed upholstery and high-density foam cushions covering the seats for ultimate comfort. The organically curved backrest features three horizontal slats and the cylindrical hornlike legs that make it appear as though the seat rest is floating. Our expert craftsmen team has professionally refinished this set, keeping all original design elements and craftsmanship ideal the same to maintain the classic essence of Møller’s design and vision. This sophisticated Danish Modern design adds a charm that will complement any modern and contemporary dining space.

The Restoration Record

Everything we touched, and everything we left alone

Sixty-four hours of bench time by two craftsmen in our Hyperion Avenue workshop. Period-correct methods and materials throughout.

Frame fully disassembled, joints cleaned of old glue and re-set with hide glue. One rear stretcher replaced with salvaged period teak, grain-matched.

Stripped by hand, sanded through 120/180/240/320 grit, then three coats of Danish oil cut back between coats. No lacquer, no filler, no stain.

New jute webbing over the original beech rails; horsehair and natural latex pad; Kvadrat wool bouclé in undyed oat.

Maker's stamp, original brass fittings and the patina on the arm caps, the marks that prove the piece lived.
