Splendid credenza designed by Finn Juhl for Baker in the United States circa 1950’s. This credenza features a walnut wood case sitting on five tapered legs. This incredible Finn Juhl design is adorned with two sliding cane doors and round recessed pulls that reveal ample storage space within. The interior features four drawers and an open compartment underneath on the left side and a shelved compartment on the right side. The top shows a raised lip detail on the back edge of the case while the backside is finished which allows for use in the center of a room. This item has been recently refinished by our group of experienced craftsmen and is an exquisite example of Danish modern design that will wow your guests while creating a unique Modern vibe in your home.

The Restoration Record

Everything we touched, and everything we left alone

Sixty-four hours of bench time by two craftsmen in our Hyperion Avenue workshop. Period-correct methods and materials throughout.

Frame fully disassembled, joints cleaned of old glue and re-set with hide glue. One rear stretcher replaced with salvaged period teak, grain-matched.
Stripped by hand, sanded through 120/180/240/320 grit, then three coats of Danish oil cut back between coats. No lacquer, no filler, no stain.
New jute webbing over the original beech rails; horsehair and natural latex pad; Kvadrat wool bouclé in undyed oat.
Maker's stamp, original brass fittings and the patina on the arm caps, the marks that prove the piece lived.
