This exquisite Mid-Century Modern glazed ceramic box was designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi and imported by Rosenthal Netter during the 1960s. Showcasing Londi’s signature deep blue and green color palette, this lidded box features intricate hand-painted botanical details and a beautifully textured glaze that brings out its rich vibrancy. The interior is finished in a stunning glossy blue glaze, providing a luxurious contrast to the textured exterior.

Perfect for storing small treasures, jewelry, or as a standalone decorative accent, this piece embodies the elegance and artistry of Italian ceramic craftsmanship.

Fun Historical Fact: Rosenthal Netter was instrumental in introducing Bitossi’s iconic Italian ceramics to the American market in the mid-20th century, fueling the rise of bold, colorful home décor in the 1960s and 70s.

The Restoration Record

Everything we touched, and everything we left alone

Sixty-four hours of bench time by two craftsmen in our Hyperion Avenue workshop. Period-correct methods and materials throughout.

Frame fully disassembled, joints cleaned of old glue and re-set with hide glue. One rear stretcher replaced with salvaged period teak, grain-matched.
Stripped by hand, sanded through 120/180/240/320 grit, then three coats of Danish oil cut back between coats. No lacquer, no filler, no stain.
New jute webbing over the original beech rails; horsehair and natural latex pad; Kvadrat wool bouclé in undyed oat.
Maker's stamp, original brass fittings and the patina on the arm caps, the marks that prove the piece lived.
